• Let’s hop on a complimentary call to get to know one another and figure out if I am a good fit for your child! I will listen to your concerns, ask questions about your child and their history, and recommend next steps, whether that is with me or a speech-language pathologist specializing in another area. Typically, this phone call will lead to an evaluation, but sometimes it does not and that’s okay! The purpose of this call is to confidently point you and your child in the right direction.

  • If an evaluation is recommended, the next step is to complete intake forms prior to your child’s evaluation. This will help me to determine which assessments to utilize during the evaluation. The evaluation will then be scheduled for 1-2 hours depending on the scope of concerns discussed.

  • I use a combination of standardized and non-standardized assessments in addition to play-based observations and parent input to evaluate your child. Depending on the extent of the areas of concern, each evaluation typically lasts 1-2 hours; testing can be conducted in two shorter 1-hour blocks if that is best for your child.

Based on the results from this evaluation, I will develop an individualized treatment plan that is specifically tailored to your child’s unique skill set that includes achievable long-term and short-term goals. A copy of this evaluation report and plan of care will be provided to you. If desired, we can schedule a 20-minute call to review the findings.

  • Based on the established treatment plan, the recommended frequency of therapy sessions for your child will be determined. Together, we can find a day and time that works best for you on a recurring basis and discuss if in-person or virtual sessions are best for your child. During therapy sessions, I will target the goals that were created from the comprehensive evaluation.

Sessions are typically scheduled in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute increments depending on availability, need, travel time, and scope of support.

  • I will periodically review your child’s progress to determine if the current treatment plan needs modification or updating. Every child is different - some children need more time while others will meet goals rather quickly. Following a home practice program outside of therapy sessions is the best way to support your child’s continued growth. Regardless of your child’s unique path, you and your child will be supported every step of the way.

If your child is in speech therapy for over a year, I will conduct a reassessment at the 1-year mark to measure progress and set new goals for the year.

Once milestones and/or goals have been met, your child will be discharged from speech therapy.

  • Virtual parent coaching sessions are available in addition to your child’s therapy sessions OR while you’re trying to decide if you’re ready for an evaluation and/or therapy sessions.

Sometimes you simply are not ready to dive into an evaluation and recurring therapy sessions due to the financial and/or time commitment or you are on a wait-list to obtain services elsewhere. Parent coaching sessions are a great option for you to learn communication tips and tricks for working with your child at home!

Or, if your child is in therapy and you are looking for additional information outside of your child’s therapy sessions, these sessions are a great way to receive extra support if and when you need it!

I offer 30- or 60-minute virtual consultation blocks specifically designed for parents or caretakers of current families and new families who are looking for more in-depth education and information on how to best support their child at home. These can be booked by messaging me directly.

Please note these coaching sessions are not therapeutic in nature and cannot be submitted for potential insurance reimbursement and would not be included on a superbill.
